Bishop Sensitize Members On E- Birth Registration
The Bishop of the African Church, Solution Ground, Abeokuta, Rt. Rev. Jeremiah Okunlola on Sunday sensitized his congregation on the need for parents to register there children between the ages of 0 -5 years with government at all levels.
He made the advocacy shortly after his sermon in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.
The e-birth registration, which was conceptualized two years ago with the plan to ensure every child in Nigeria has a legal identity, is expected to change the narrative when implemented.
Taking the advocacy to a different level,, The Bishop of the African Church in his admonished his members to key into the policy of government stressing that the benefits are enormous.
Speaking with newsmen, UNICEF’s Child Protection Specialist, said Nigeria has a lot to gain by adopting e-birth registration as a standard.
He said increased awareness would boost the demand for e-birth registration, stressing that both the urban and rural areas are expected to be captured.
