In a recent statement, the Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church, David Olaniyi Oyedepo, has reaffirmed his position that contesting for Nigeria’s presidency would be akin to a demotion for him.

During the impartation service of Shiloh 2023, themed ‘Redeemed to flourish in hard times,’ Bishop Oyedepo emphasized that his conviction stems from a spiritual perspective, asserting that he envisions himself leading nations.

“I wasn’t blabbing when I said it will be like demotion if I am called to be Nigeria’s president because I see myself on top of nations from scripture,” said Oyedepo during his sermon on the spirit of faith. He explained that the spirit of faith is action-driven and relies on inner strength. “The day I saw God’s agenda for my life, I moved,” he added.

Addressing the congregation, Oyedepo encouraged them to nourish their faith through the word of God. “If you don’t feed your spirit of faith with the word of God, it will turn to trash,” he emphasized. The bishop concluded by expressing confidence that, even in his absence, nations would converge at the church if he were to be with God.

In related news, the bishop’s remarks have sparked discussions about the intersection of faith and political leadership.
