Bandits Abduct Nursing Mother, 22 Others In Kaduna Communities
In another incident, bandits attacked Dan Honu II, New Millennium City also in Chikun Local Government Area where they abducted a nurse and her three sons.
Bandits stormed Mani village in Rido Ward and Danhonu II Millennium City, both in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on Wednesday and Thursday, reportedly abducting 23 people.
It was reported that the bandits stormed Mani community in large numbers while the residents were still asleep. They began shooting and then moved from house to house, abducting about 19 people.
The victims reportedly included a nursing mother and an infant.
In another incident, bandits attacked Dan Honu II, New Millennium City also in Chikun Local Government Area where they abducted a nurse and her three sons.
The bandits attacked the home of Mr Mutiu Adeleke, abducting his wife and three sons while leaving him behind.
“The incident took place around 10 p.m. when the gunmen invaded the community, firing shots indiscriminately and without resistance before taking the victims,” a source told Vanguard.
The source noted that Mrs Adeleke, unable to keep pace with the bandits, was abandoned in the bush and has since returned home.
However, her three sons were taken.
“Following the recent kidnapping of two journalists, Mr Adeleke had decided to relocate and had secured a new apartment in a safer area just two days before the attack,” the source said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Adeleke and his family had begun moving their belongings from Dan Honu II and were planning to complete their move by next weekend when this tragic event occurred.
Efforts made by SaharaReporters to get confirmation or an update from the state police command spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, failed as he did not answer calls or reply to messages sent to him.
