BACOTHO holds 54th Graduation, Fellowship Award Ceremony.
Baptist College of Theology Obinze (BACOTHO), Owerri West Local Government Area, has held her 54th Graduation/Fellowship Award Ceremony.
The ceremony, which was held recently at the College Premises amidst fanfare, was graced by people from all walks of life.
In his address, the Chairman of the BACOTHO Board, Hon. Dawari George, said the College which is affiliated with the University of Port- Harcourt is committed to promoting evangelism, godliness and goodness via quality education. He called on well-to-do individuals to assist the College to promote God’s Word.
George declared that “the vision of this College by its Proprietors is for the training and retraining of men and women for Gospel ministry, theological education, for administration, leadership and socio-political impact”.
To the graduands, George urged them “to be our mouthpiece, our advocate, be our fundraisers, support our curriculum and be our image and brand ambassadors. Take the torch of the College wherever you go as symbols of our hopes and aspirations. In words and deeds, be the agents of God’s reconciliation with the world. We release you today to do great exploits for God and His Kingdom”.
Earlier, the Registrar of the College, Moses Uvie-Odeghe FIHFM, who ushered in the Rector of the institution, appraised the resilience, efforts and prudence of management in seeing to the advancement of quality academics and thorough discipline of students/graduands.
While giving the graduation address, former Provost, Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education Owerri and Professor of Environmental Biology, Professor Blessing Chima Ijioma, advised the graduands to be spiritually and physically strong, imbibe wisdom, pray fervently, remain faithful to God so that they perform excellently in their assigned task of promoting the Gospel of truth, love and righteousness to the people.
The Rector of the College, Professor Reuben Chuga presented Certificates in Theology, Special Diploma in Theology, Diploma in Theology, Diploma in Religious Education, Bachelor in Theology, Bachelor in Religious Education, Postgraduate Diploma in Theology and Women’s Training Programme issued to the graduands at the event.
Thus, the Rector earlier declared the event open and welcomed the Visitor of the College and President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Rev. Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji and other dignitaries to the ceremony.
The high point of the ceremony was the presentation of Awards of Fellowship to distinguished personalities, including Hon. O.K Chinda, Member House of Representative; Hon. Dr. T.O.E. Ekechi, Convener, Imo Restoration Coalition, Dr. Utchay Okorji, a distinguished Real Estate professional, Dr. Seinye Lulu-Briggs, Chairman/Chief Executive, Moni Pulo Limited, Apostle Dr. Canice Anelechi, QS (Barr) Tito Omokhowa Asekhame, and Dr. Dakorinama Alabo George-Kelly, Commissioner for Works, Rivers State, for their selfless contributions, exceptional service to humanity and immense contributions to the work of God.
