Awomama killings: DSS parades ESN suspect

The Department of State Service(DSS) in Owerri,Imo State capital has paraded an alleged member of the Eastern Security Network(ESN) of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB),Chinonso Mmerem who led them to one of their camps at Awomama where some leaders of the group were killed.

During the parading at the DSS Office Imo state yesterday the 19th of July, 2022, the suspected member of ESN, Mmerem while answering question from newsmen in the state confessed that the victims killed on Sunday were members of ESN, who combined security agencies rounded up on the said day in one of their camp at Awomama.

“I am Chinonso,Mmerem,I led the DSS to the ESN camp at Awomama, I was caught a week ago by the security agents,on Sunday I led them to the camp where they were having meetings in preparations for Monday sit-at-home order” The suspect confess.

He continued, “Some of the members were shot,including “One man” squad who is our leader at Awomama, although he did not die,he escaped with bullet wounds but his phone was retrieved by the DSS.

According to the release, as signed by the DSS Imo state command, they insisted that the victims killed on Sunday were members of ESN and not guest from traditional marriage ceremony as against the news making around, the social media.

He further rounded off his confession by advising some of his members and other youths to avoid violence of any kind saying it will always land them into trouble.
