APC elders want Reps member expelled over alleged anti-party activities
A group of senior members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the North-West, operating under the name Concerned Elders for Peace, has called for the expulsion of Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji, a House of Representatives member from Zamfara State, over alleged acts of sabotage against the party.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Sokoto, the Zonal Coordinator of APC North-West, Aliyu Mammani Kaura, accused Jaji of working against the party’s interests by fueling divisions, supporting media attacks on key APC figures, and aligning with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State.
The elders expressed concern that Jaji’s alleged ties with the PDP-led government in the state are destabilising APC’s internal structure.
They also accused him of disrespecting top party leaders, including the Minister of State for Defense, Bello Matawalle, and former Governor Abdul’aziz Yari.
Despite repeated reconciliation efforts, the elders claim Jaji has continued to undermine party unity, allegedly using social media to spread discord and attack APC chieftains.
“The continued defiance and disregard for party leadership by Hon. Sani Jaji pose a serious threat to the APC’s stability in Zamfara and the North-West,” the statement warned.
They cautioned that if his actions go unchecked, they could further weaken the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
“His antagonistic stance toward party leaders threatens the unity, discipline, and progress of the APC in the region,” they added.
The group also criticised Jaji’s media aide, Mansur Aminu Khalifa, accusing him of making inflammatory remarks aimed at discrediting party leaders.
According to the elders, Jaji and his aide had previously been suspended for misconduct, yet their alleged disruptive behavior continues, suggesting disloyalty to the APC in favor of external political interests.
They urged the party’s national leadership to take decisive action to preserve APC’s unity and prevent further divisions, emphasizing the need for a strong and united front as the party prepares for future elections.
