Saudi Arabia has changed its visa policy, allowing only single-entry visas for travelers from 14 countries, including Nigeria.

These visas will be valid for 30 days and cannot be extended.

The new rule affects tourists, business visitors, and those traveling for family visits.

It targets travellers from the following nations: Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, Tunisia, and Yemen.

However, it does not apply to Hajj, Umrah, diplomatic, or residency visas.

Authorities said the decision was made due to cases of visa misuse, where some travelers stayed illegally or participated in Hajj without proper permits.

The government enforces strict Hajj quotas to control crowding, a major issue in 2024 when over 1,200 pilgrims died due to extreme heat and congestion.

Officials considered this a temporary measure but have not given a timeline for review.

Travelers from the affected countries are advised to apply early and follow the new guidelines to avoid complications.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges people to stay informed through official sources.
