Annie Macaulay makes first outing after separation from 2baba
Actress and reality star, Annie Macaulay, formerly known as Annie Idibia, has made her first public appearance since music legend Innocent Ujah Idibia, aka 2Baba, announced their separation.
The outing, which surfaced in a video on Instagram on Monday, March 31, shows Annie in high spirits, chatting and laughing with close friends , including actress Regina Daniels at what looked like a casual hangout.
This marks Annie’s return to public view after months of silence.
Back in January, 2Baba shocked fans with a post on Instagram confirming their separation.
“I and Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while now and currently filed for divorce,” 2Baba had revealed.
“No one hacked my account. I said what I said. I come in peace.”
Since then, the actress has cleared her Instagram page and changed her bio, officially dropping “Idibia” and reverting to her maiden name “Annie Uwana Macaulay.
Guardian Life reports that the name change appeared on her bio shortly before her return to social media on March 27.
The couple, who got married in 2012 and have two daughters, also unfollowed each other on Instagram, further confirming the rift.
Annie’s appearance has now sparked reactions across social media.
@nekky_nneka wrote, “She too love that 2Face. That’s the only crime she has.”
@wuraola_official added, “Na now she go get peace of mind to carry man for head. Na serious work.”
Others encouraged her to stay strong.
@judy_nwa said, “Life goes on, Annie. She has to be strong for her daughters.”
But not everyone was happy about her current circle.
@joyful commented, “I don’t know about this friendship. Yes, you can be friends with Regina Daniels, but hanging out and visiting her is like a downgrade. Annie, you are a whole babe.”
While Annie has not officially addressed the divorce, fans believe her name change and digital silence were signs that she has accepted the reality and might be turning a new page.
