Amotekun Arrests Underage Herders, 49 Cows in Ondo
Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network codenamed Amotekun Corps have apprehended two underage herders and 49 cows.
Also arrested is the father of the underage herders, Ibrahim Musa.
They were arrested for disobeying the state government’s directive banning use of underage herders.
They were also accused of harassing a septuagenarian in Kajola area of Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo state.
The underage herders v were said to have threatened Mrs Victoria Ajayi, 70, with a cutlass.
Mrs Ajayi said it was her grandson that informed her that cows have invaded their farm.
“That evening, I was resting after taking my drugs because I was under medication for hypertension. My little boy called and said there were cows in our farm. I saw a man standing afar, while the two little boys were with the cows” Mrs Ajayi said.
Speaking on the development, the Commander of Amotekun in the state, Chief Adetunji Adeleye said that following a distress call received from the woman, the corps’ response team swung into and arrested the culprits.
He disclosed that the children would be charged to juvenile court to face the law.
