These officers mainly consist of university professors, including several vice chancellors.
This meeting is the third in a series of post-elections review meetings that the Commission has scheduled with various stakeholders involved in the elections. Just two days prior, on Wednesday, Yakubu and the INEC commissioners met with members of various transport unions who were engaged during the 2023 general elections.
The primary focus of that meeting was to review the conduct of the elections and the implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed with the transport unions for logistical support.
The meeting with the collation and returning officers aimed to assess their performance and how they carried out their assignments as field supervisors during the elections.
INEC considers these review meetings crucial for evaluating the conduct of the elections and ensuring improvements for future electoral processes
