Residents of the Diobu axis of Port Harcourt has called on the security agencies and state Government to intervene and put to an end the serial illegality and crime orchestrated within the Ogu and Coco-Cola waterfronts.

Mr. Cosmos Fenibo, a concerned citizen and a land owner at the popular Ogu waterfront condemned the incessant cult related activities ongoing at the Ogu waterfront ” We can’t sleep with out two eyes closed, cultists have taken over the affairs of the waterside, they rape, maim, steal and even preside over cases here, we are living in fear” he said.

Recall there have been an ongoing cult clash within the Diobu axis of Port Harcourt which is rumoured to have left over 4 persons dead, including a notorious cultist Asari.

In a statement issued by the Rivers state Police Command, the state public relations officer Grace Iringikoko revealed the Police was yet to be briefed on any death as no corpse was recovered all through the intervention of the police at the scene of crime.

Ogu waterfront where Asari was killed The Ogu waterfront have over years grown to be a hotspot of cultism and criminality within the Diobu axis owing to the fact that the state Government did not demolish shanties within this waterfronts during the previous demolition exercise

Also speaking to news men, Deaconess Mercy Azeru, an indigene of Rumuwoji community, called on the Government to take necessary actions in other to protect lives and property within the Ogu waterfront axis “Ever since the Government demolished other waterfronts in Diobu, all this criminals and cultist have now moved to Ogu water-front, when you go there you can see for yourself the illegal bunkering activities , Cultism, drug abuse, rape and other social vices constantly taking place”.

Mrs Azeru also called on the leadership of Rumuwoji community to take appropriate actions before the current situation gets out of hand ” all the stealings in Mile one Diobu, even under the mile 1 park flyover is from the Ogu waterfront, mostimes the police will chase them and once they run into the shanties you won’t see them again.

The Government should help us, community leaders of Rumuwoji should also come to our aid before things get out of hand”.
