Akpabio appoints new chief of staff
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has appointed Chinedu Akabueze as his new Chief of Staff.
Akabueze, who has been the Senate Clerk since March 2022, is set to retire having clocked the age of 60.
He replaces Sylvester Okonkwo, who was appointed by President Bola Tinubu as the Executive Director of the newly created South East Development Commission.
Akabueze’s appointment follows his long service in the Senate, where he played a key role in drafting important bills and motions.
Senate President Akpabio praised Akabueze for his dedication and hard work during the 9th and 10th Senates.
At the same time, Andrew Ogbonnaya Nwoba has been confirmed as the new Senate Clerk, effective December 11, 2024.
