AKOKO BY-ELECTION: MAKINDE MOVES TO CHALLENGE OUTCOME OF “ILEGAL PRIMARY
One of the leading aspirants in the forthcoming bye-election to elect a new representative into the seat vacated by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in the House of Representatives, Bar. Bimbo Makinde is challenging the outcome of the purported and illegal primary election that produced Ife Ehindero as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Makinde had earlier alleged that the process of the primary election was marred by irregularities, thereby calling for the cancelation of the process for prosperity’s sake.
Makinde also accused some unscrupulous persons of their role in installing their anointed candidate on other aspirants.
Makinde who has demonstrated strong leadership qualities and the ability to effectively represent the group’s interests at the federal level is asking the federal high court sitting in Akure to cancel the illegal primary and order a fresh process.
He wants the people of Akoko North East and North West to elect a representative who lives among the constituents in amity as well as a leader who is conscious of the exact spot where their shoes pinch.
