Accountant-General Office Budgets N20million To Bring In ‘Executive Chairs’
Upgrading of developed and deployed software is estimated to cost N7.5 million.
Areview of the 2025 proposed budget by Ondo State government has shown that a sum of N20 million has been earmarked for “executive chairs” by the Office of the Accountant General in the state.
Details on the document showed that the procurement of 40 sets of executive chairs is estimated at N20 million.
Other expenditures by the office included N8million earmarked for the construction of treasury gate and gate house.
Another N7 million is budgeted for renovation and furnishing of OAG primary data Centre.
Upgrading of developed and deployed software is estimated to cost N7.5 million.
Another sum of N5.1 million is earmarked for purchase of six numbers HP laptops.
In a related development, the Ondo state entrepreneurship.
Agency plans to spend N8.7 million on twenty-five numbers office tables for offices and one number executive table for Chief Executive Officer of the agency.
The agency budgeted N15 million for twelve numbers air conditioners. Three numbers of refrigerators were budgeted for N3.5 million.
There have been concerns on prudence and transparency by states in the management of their resources.
This is especially as states lament poor resources and rely on loans, federally distributed revenue to meet their fiscal obligations.
States in the country also suffer from dearth in key infrastructures such as access to education, healthcare, good roads, clean water among others.
