The Abia State national youths service corps cordinator MR JINGI DENIS, has successfully despatched a total number of 1432 Corps Members posted to Abia State after their three weeks Orientation course.
The ceremony which was done on a low key, had in attendance Abia NYSC staff, their partners and government representative and other stakeholders.
In his welcoming, Jingi, said, I am glad that you conformed to the rules and regulations guiding the Orientation course, with it’s regimentation, in particular the COVID-19 protocols of social distancing, wearing of facemasks, use of hand sanitizers and proper washing of the hands with soap and water for at least twenty seconds. Despite the raging of 3rd wave of the COVID-19 with it’s variants, we all overcame. However my children, it is not over until it is over, COVID-19 pandemic is not yet gone, we still hear of different kinds of variants of the disease including the Delta variants and others yet to be known. As such you must continue to maintain the protocols even in your hosts communities and places of primary assignments. You must at all time show the light. Together we shall all overcome this dreaded global pandemic by taking responsibility.
He further commended theirr active participation in all camp activities, undergoing the rigorous reorientation in the last three weeks while stressing that, their perseverance made the orientation exercise a success.
“You are now ready for the next phase of the NYSC programme, which is the primary and secondary assignments. I am optimistic that you will actively participate in these assignments as you have done in your respective platoons and committees” He said.
According to government policy that has been passed down to NYSC, these corps members were posted to the Seventeen LGAs, in line with the need of the state. At the end of the cordinator’s address, the corps members, were issued posting letters on platoon basis. There are vehicles to convey them to their respective local governments and assurance that they will be well received in various Places of Primary Assignments and host communities as diligent NYSC officers have prepared the grounds for their arrival.
“At this juncture, I wish to thank the Abia State Government, under the leadership of Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Ph.d for providing the enabling environment for corps members in the state to operate and showcase their God given talent.
To all our collaborating agencies, the Army, Man O’ War, Police, Civil Defence, NCDC, Red Cross, Ministry of Health, NDLEA and their officials we appreciate you for making this 2021 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 Orientation course here in the state a success. Your dilligence at all times were truly remarkable.” He asserted.
Finally, He urged them to put into practice all they have learnt during the orientation course while stressing on the need for them to discharge their duties in PPAs dilligently, Community Development Service (CDS) and Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) seriously.
