Abducted Ex-Kogi CoE Provost Dies In Rescue Operation

The pioneer Provost, College of Education Technical Kabba, Kogi state, Chief Julius Oshadumo who was abducted 10 days ago at a church service in Kabba Kogi State is dead.

He died after he was hit by stray bullets during an exchange of gun fire between the kidnappers and the local vigilantes who attempted to rescue him after the latter trailed the hoodlums to a forest around Ogori community in Kogi central

The abductors of Chief Oshadumo, said to be asthmatic, had demanded a ransom of ten million naira while the family according to a source had offered two million.

His lifeless body, which was recovered by the vigilantes, has been deposited at the Ogori General Hospital.

The wife and the other students, who were shot during the Sunday service, are still recuperating in an undisclosed hospital in the state capital, Lokoja.

The other person abducted was however rescued though injured and is receiving treatment in a medical facility.
