Abducted Governor’s Aide Regains Freedom
She was kidnapped on Thursday, April 3, in the Okposhi Eheku community by suspected gunmen, a development confirmed by SP Joshua Ukandu, Public Relations Officer of the Ebonyi State Police Command.
The abducted Coordinator of Ngbo Central Development Centre in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Blessing Adagba, has regained her freedom after spending five days in captivity.
She was kidnapped on Thursday, April 3, in the Okposhi Eheku community by suspected gunmen, a development confirmed by SP Joshua Ukandu, Public Relations Officer of the Ebonyi State Police Command.
“Yes, Adagba was abducted in the Okposhi Eheku community of Ohaukwu Local Government Area,” Ukandu stated on Friday.
He further said, “The Anti-Kidnapping Squad has been deployed to rescue the victim. I believe they are working tirelessly to ensure her immediate release.”
On Wednesday, Ukandu confirmed her release in a statement to the News Agency of Nigeria.
“The victim was released yesterday (Tuesday) night. During the tracking of the suspects, after the release of the victim; we were able to arrest one of the syndicate, Chukwuemeka Nwazunku, male.
“We hope that the arrest of Nwazunku will help our men in fishing out the rest of the gang,” he added.
Last Friday, SaharaReporters reported how suspected gunmen abducted Adagba the previous night in the Okposhi Eheku community of Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Ebonyi State.
