Pandemonium as Passenger collapses, dies inside Commercial Bus
Panic ensued in Ogun State after a 29-year-old passenger, identified as Anuoluwapo Aderemi, tragically collapsed and died while traveling on a commercial bus.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening as Aderemi was en route from Papalanto Motor Park in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State to Ibadan, Oyo State. The bus made a stop at a filling station in Itori around 7:45 pm when Aderemi suddenly collapsed.
The bus driver, Akeem Olorode, who was transporting 15 passengers at the time, promptly reported the situation to the police.
According to Odutola Omolola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, other passengers immediately tried to administer first aid to Aderemi, but their efforts were in vain as he passed away inside the bus.
Upon receiving the report, detectives from the Ewekoro Police Division were dispatched to the scene, where they found Aderemi deceased along with the other passengers.
The tragic incident has left the community in shock as investigations continue into the cause of death.
Omolola said: “At around 7:00 pm, the driver stopped at a filling station in Itori to refuel. While filling the tank, other passengers alerted him that one of the passengers was acting strangely and had become unconscious.
“It was later revealed that the deceased was a resident of Ibadan. He was transported to a state hospital in Ifo, where a doctor on duty confirmed his death.”
