THE 3 DEGREES OF LAUGHTER : Pastor Isaac Olutimehin
*Genesis 21:6 KJV.*
*_”And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me”._*
*MESSAGE:*
☆☆☆ Today, we want to look at the kind of laughter that Sarah, the wife of Abraham, laughed.
☆☆☆ You will recall that Sarah had been barren for so many years before God now opened her womb.
☆☆☆ She conceived and gave birth to Isaac.
☆☆☆ In thanksgiving, Sarah said: *”God hath made me to laugh”.*
☆☆☆ Beloved, there are 3 types of laughter we want to look at very briefly:
*1. Laughing to mock:*
☆☆☆ When people laugh at you, they are actually mocking you.
☆☆☆ They have probably written you off that nothing good can come out of your Nazareth.
☆☆☆ They have concluded your case as dead, no more hope.
■■■ Let us look at an example of this in the story of how Jesus raised Jairus daughter back to life 👇
*_”And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth”. “And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead”*- *Luke 8:52-53.*
☆☆☆ Read the above chapter of the bible with understanding, then you will get the message that the Holy Spirit is sending.
☆☆☆ Bible recorded that Jairus daughter died and people were weeping.
☆☆☆ Jesus came and asked them to stop crying because the child was only sleeping and not dead.
☆☆☆ The same people who were hitherto weeping, suddenly burst into laughter.
☆☆☆ How come? That should tell you quickly that not everyone who you think is sympathising with you that is sincere. Many are simply mocking you.
●●● This may be similar to the case of an individual reading this prayer message today. You might have been written off. Friends and colleagues might have forsaken you, thinking you are finished. I have good news for you today, the same God who turned the story of Joseph around for good, shall visit you today in Jesus name.
●●● The same God who brought Jairus daughter back to life, shall resuscitate your lost glory in Jesus name.
*2. Laughing in unbelief:*
☆☆☆ This can happen to you as an individual.
☆☆☆ Looking at certain situations in your life, you may laugh at yourself in unbelief; thinking there is no way your case can be better.
■■■ Gideon found himself in this situation 👇
_*And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.
[14]And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? [15] And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house” – Judges 6:12,14-15.
☆☆☆ The angel of the Lord referred to Gideon as a “mighty man of valour”.
☆☆☆ Gideon, looking at himself, his life and family background; “laughed at himself in unbelief”.
☆☆☆ Again, when the angel of the Lord visited Abraham and Sarah in Genesis 18, and said Sarah would conceive and have a baby; Sarah “laughed in unbelief”.
☆☆☆ Sarah saw herself as having passed the period of child bearing and so she thought the angel of God was deceiving her.
☆☆☆ So she “laughed in unbelief”.
“And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him”. “Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also”? – Genesis 18:11-12.
☆☆☆ Sarah wrote herself off but God had a better plan for her.
*3. Laughing in rejoicing and celebration:*
☆☆☆ This was the exact experience of Sarah in our text for today.
☆☆☆ Though Sarah thought it was all over but God took over and put laughter in her mouth.
☆☆☆ When a miracle happens and a long awaited testimony matures, you cannot but laugh in joy and celebration.
■■■ The bible says 👇
“Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the Lord” – Isaiah 54:1.
■■■ Whether people have laughed at you, thereby making a mockery of you, or you have been discouraged by the challenges of life and therefore laughed in unbelief; I have good news for you today 👇
■■■ I see you laughing in rejoicing and celebration.
■■■ I see people gathering to rejoice with you.
■■■ I see God silencing mockers with your bountiful testimonies.
■■■ I see God loading your life with beautiful results to put an end to your insults.
*PRAYERS* 👇
1. Father, please give me a miracle to silence my mockers.
2. Oh God my father, when men thought I am finished, let a sudden miracle happen in my life that will shock my mockers in Jesus name.
3. Father, where men thought there was no way for me, let unprecedented doors of breakthrough be open for me in Jesus name.
4. Oh God my father, please encourage me in those areas of my life that have been discouraged.
5. My God and my creator, please conduct a fresh naming ceremony for me today to erase every negative name tag attached to my life.
6. Father, please don’t allow my life to run according to the timetable of the devil.
7. Oh God my father, in the journey of life, please grant me divine speed and strengthen me to finish well and finish strong.
8. Father, make me a force to be recognised for good in my generation.
■■■ Methuselah lived for 969 years but left nothing for the world to remember him by.
9. Oh God my father, I refuse to be a waste to my generation in Jesus name.
10. My life shall impact others positively in Jesus mighty name.
*PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS* 👇
Based upon the authority in the word of God, I make bold to declare to you reading this message today, God shall turn your mockery to laughter of joy and celebration in Jesus name.
I decree and declare, your unbelief shall translate to a perfect testimony from today in Jesus mighty name.
To a particular individual out there, I prophesy, a miracle is coming your way that will shock those who think “nothing good” can come out of your Nazareth in Jesus name.
Woman, receive this: The same God who turned the sorrows of Sarah to joy, shall wipe away your tears today and put an end to your endless waiting in Jesus mighty name.
Our God cannot be mocked. I therefore prophesy, those who are waiting to mock the God you serve, shall end up in shame and disappointment in Jesus name.
Everything that has a beginning must surely have an end. I therefore decree an end upon every form of barrenness in your life from today in Jesus name.
I prophesy, the Lord is changing, for good today, every name you are being called to mock you in Jesus name.
Those who have hitherto been laughing at you, to mock you, shall henceforth begin to laugh with you in celebration in Jesus mighty name.
To a particular couple out there, trusting God for a child; I prophesy, your own Isaac is on the way in Jesus name.
