#EndBadGovernance: Colleagues Who Backed Tinubu Now In Hiding Amid Backlash, Says Nollywood Actor Damilare Olaiya
Olaiya disclosed that many of his colleagues who supported Tinubu’s bid for the presidency are now concealing their faces, unable to withstand the criticism and backlash from the Nigerian public.
Nollywood actor Damilare Olaiya has spoken out against his colleagues who publicly backed Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential campaign, suggesting they are now hiding in shame.
Olaiya disclosed that many of his colleagues who supported Tinubu’s bid for the presidency are now concealing their faces, unable to withstand the criticism and backlash from the Nigerian public.
“Most of my colleagues that are on the side of the government, their comments are put off. I don’t want to mention names; some of our veteran Nollywood actresses supported this government, they are hiding their face.
“They cannot come out, the comments (comment section) of their social media handles are locked. They cannot take the backlash of Nigerians…”
He noted that he was willing to die to achieve good governance for the country.
“Today I am a grandfather and I am telling you that even if they take our lives, bad governance must end. We are prepared to die,” he stated.
Nigerians have taken to the streets to protest against poor governance through the #EndBadGovernance movement, which began on August 1 and is set to continue until August 10.
The protesters are voicing their concerns over pressing issues such as food inflation, increasing cost of living, and general inflation.
Notably, several prominent actors and actresses had publicly endorsed Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential candidacy during the 2023 elections, sparking controversy and debate.
