Amid the ongoing #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests, youths in Kano State have taken to the streets waving Russian flags and calling for intervention from Russian President, Vladimir Putin.

Frustrated Nigerians first took to the streets on Thursday, August 1, to demand better governance and an end to pressing issues such as food inflation, general inflation, and high living costs.

The unusual display of Russian flags highlights the protesters’ frustration with the home government’s handling of the economic crisis, which has intensified hunger and hardship.

The protestors’ demands for Putin’s intervention reflect the growing discontent among Nigerians who feel their grievances are not being addressed by their own government led by President Bola Tinubu.

Frustrated residents took to the streets, demanding improved governance and an end to pressing issues like food inflation, general inflation, and the high cost of living.

Despite the government’s efforts to suppress the protests, including subtle threats against demonstrators, a large turnout of Nigerians has defied these attempts, showing determination and resolve.

Nigeria is grappling with a staggering 40.87% food inflation rate, while general inflation persists, fueling widespread discontent among Nigerians regarding the government’s policies.

Despite the government’s efforts to address the situation through various policy initiatives, these measures have yet to yield meaningful results, exacerbating the growing unease among citizens.
