WHEN THE EYE OF LOVE IS BLIND, REALITY WILL OPEN IT : Pastor Isaac Olutimehin
Please read Genesis 29:16-30 but we shall be concentrating on just verse 18.
Genesis 29:18 KJV.
“And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter”.
*MESSAGE*
☆☆☆ Beloved, the Holy Spirit ministered something to me from this verse that I wish to share with everyone.
☆☆☆ Did you ever notice before now that Jacob was the one who suggested that he would serve Laban for 7 years so he could marry Rachel?
☆☆☆ Laban only felt that Jacob should not serve him in vain that he must be given wages for his service.
“And Laban said unto Jacob, Because thou art my brother, shouldest thou therefore serve me for nought? tell me, what shall thy wages be”? – Genesis 29:15.
☆☆☆ Beloved, people claim that love is blind but I beg to disagree.
☆☆☆ When people are under the influence of love, they get intoxicated and carried away to the extent that they become blind to reality.
☆☆☆ Even after Jacob had served a total of 14 years before he could be allowed to marry Rachel, he still voluntarily served extra 7 years to ‘compensate’ Laban.
“And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years” – Genesis 29:30.
☆☆☆ Jacob served a total of 21 years because of “love”. Read Genesis 29:18,27,28,30.
☆☆☆ Many of our youths today sentence themselves to life imprisonment every February 14 in the name of Valentine.
☆☆☆ Beloved, many people enter into bondage today because they have been intoxicated and blindfolded by what they claim to love.
☆☆☆ Some people love to work with certain establishments and will be so blinded by their love for such organisations to the extent that they might not even read the conditions of service properly; many don’t even bother to read at all.
☆☆☆ Many others jump at certain offers and are willing to pay any price without considering the effects of their actions thereafter.
☆☆☆ A lot of others are in bondage today because of what they love to eat.
☆☆☆ Love is not blind beloved but many people sentence themselves into bondage in the name of “love”.
■■■Before you conclude that love is blind, let us consider the following 👇
*1. HAVE YOU CHECKED WITH GOD?*
☆☆☆ Did you ever discuss that situation with God in the first place?
☆☆☆ Can you boldly and confidently say today that God approved of your marriage before you started that journey?
☆☆☆ Did you check that business with God before going into it?
â– â– â– Somebody sent a message to me, purported to be written by a pastor. The message was that God didn’t condemn polygamy. He went further to argue that God approve of polygamy. He gave instances of Abraham, Isaac, Solomon, David, etc. But the writer didn’t tell us where any of those people he mentioned discussed with God before marrying a second or third wives. Even when Sarah asked Abraham to marry Hagar, Abraham just went in without asking God but when Sarah now asked him to send Hagar and her son away, it was then he remembered to seek the opinion of God. God simply told him to do exactly what his wife wanted.
☆☆☆ Beloved, before you commit yourself into that relationship or business or accept that job offer, discuss with God first.
Psalm 37:5 KJV
Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
*2. DON’T MAKE PROMISES IN ANXIETY.*
☆☆☆ Most people make promises or pledges when they are overwhelmed with joy. Such pledges can be over bloated.
☆☆☆ Many others make pledges when they are anxious to get a result or something done faster.
☆☆☆ When reality dawns on you, you may regret ever making such a promise.
â– â– â– There is a beautiful story in Judges 11:
Jephthah was once rejected by his brethren but when those brethren had the challenge of war, Jephthah was invited with a promise that he would be made their leader if he defeated the enemies. Out of anxiety, Jephthah prayed and said 👇
Judges 11:30-31.
“And Jephthah vowed a vow unto the Lord, and said, If thou shalt without fail deliver the children of Ammon into mine hands”,
[31] “Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the Lord’s, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering”.
☆☆☆ Eventually, Jephthah came out of that battle victorious but see what happened thereafter 👇
Judges 11:34-35.
“And Jephthah came to Mizpeh unto his house, and, behold, his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with dances: and she was his only child; beside her he had neither son nor daughter”.
[35] “And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto the Lord , and I cannot go back”.
☆☆☆ People usually default in promises or vows made in anxiety.
☆☆☆ Many people might not even believe what they are asking for will surely come to pass.
â– â– â– Please note that there is no crime in making big vows unto God but equally pray for the grace to fulfill your vows.
*3. DON’T ALLOW FEAR SENTENCE YOU TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT.*
☆☆☆ Many people are in bondage today because of certain promises or vows they made when they were passing through some challenges of life.
☆☆☆ Beloved, whatever you are passing through right now is just a stage in your life.
☆☆☆ This challenge will surely pass away.
☆☆☆ Don’t allow your current situation to push you into certain bondage you will live the rest of your life to regret.
â– â– â– Hear this story: A man was caught stealing at work by his supervisor. The supervisor agreed not to report him to the management if only he would agree to part away with half of his salary every month till he leaves the establishment. Secondly, he must also be buying lunch for the supervisor from the other half left with him. This man out of fear of being exposed agreed. The supervisor was feeding fat and he was in bondage of fear of losing his job.
1 John 4:18 KJV
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
â– â– â– The young man eventually went to the management to confess his sins. Unfortunately he had suffered for 6 months. The supervisor was invited and interviewed. His appointment was subsequently terminated for aiding and abetting. The young man was also forgiven for having the boldness to come forward and confess.
*PRAYERS*
1. Father, please don’t allow me to sacrifice my future on the altar of gluttony in Jesus name.
2. Please Lord, correct every error have run into in life out of ignorance.
3. My father and my creator, don’t allow me to reject your choice for my life in Jesus name.
4. I refuse to sacrifice my freedom for the life of bondage in Jesus name.
5. Father, please open my eyes and give me the grace to separate myself from any relationship that can lead me into bondage in Jesus name.
6. Father, please set me free from the captivity of self imprisonment.
7. I regain my freedom by faith and all my caged blessings in Jesus name.
*PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:*
â–ªI pray for somebody today, may you not love to eat what will kill you in Jesus name.
â–ªI say it again and again that Leah was the choice of God for Jacob but he chose Rachel. May you not reject the choice of God for your life in Jesus name.
â–ªJacob extended his years of bondage in the name of love. I decree, you will not sacrifice your freedom for captivity in Jesus name.
â–ªI decree, declare and prophesy, the Lord shall purge you today of whatever you have eaten in the name of love which has led you into captivity in Jesus name.
â–ªTo somebody out there, reading this prayer message, I decree, the Lord shall open your eyes from today so you can step out of every captivity you have found yourself, in the name of love, in Jesus mighty name.
â–ªI break the yoke of captivity, upon the lives of our youths, as a result of February 14 and the spirit of Valentine in Jesus mighty name.
â–ªIn whatever form you have been caged or imprisoned, the Lord shall set you free today in Jesus name.
