Owo Agog as Aiyedatiwa Appoints Former Lawmaker into Cabinet

Prominent environmentalist and former state lawmaker from Owo Local Government area of Ondo State, Hon. (Dr.) Adeyemi Olayemi, has been appointed into the cabinet of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, amid jubilations in the ancient town of Owo.

Olayemi, fondly known as Koko, was named Special Adviser on Environment, in the roll-call of latest political appointments in the governor’s assurance to various groups and stakeholders across the state that he would run inclusive governance.

Olayemi, who is the Owo Local Government Director-General for the governor ‘s mainstream campaign body, the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers Independent Council (LACO-FSIC), in accepting the appointment, assured of his readiness to help implement Government policies as they pertain to environmental matters across the state.

“I thank Mr. Governor for the confidence reposed in me and I give full assurance of total commitment to discharging my duties as charged, especially in efforts to transform the environmental outlook of Ondo State, with a view to making the state safe and prosperous.

“Politics apart, our people believe in the capacity of Governor Aiyedatiwa to transform lives, especially in the ranks of the masses, having recently released a sum of N2 billion as soft loans to petty traders, peasant farmers and young entrepreneurs.

“They are also excited that several capital projects that include road construction and rehabilitation are ongoing across communities in less than eight months into the administration of the governor.

“As for my primary duty of working for ensuring a safe and habitable environment for all the people in Ondo State, especially for our people living in the riverine communities, I’m irrevocably committedto generating ideas that will give us a success story,” he pledged.

Olayemi, while addressing well-wishers following the appointment, also assured that Owo community was solidly behind the Aiyedatiwa administration, as all groups had formed a united force on the platform of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), with consensus to ensure that Aiyedatiwa get massive votes in the November 16 governorship election.
