The Chairman South East Council of Traditional Rulers and Chairman Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty Igwe Sir Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu, Igwe Ogadagidi of Edem -Ani Ancient Kingdom in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State has congratulated the Rangers International Football Club of Enugu for emerging champions of the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, title for a record eight times following their impressive 2-0 victory over Bendel Insurance of Benin at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
In a statement released to newsmen in Nsukka, Igwe Ogadagidi lauded the team’s dedication, sportsmanship, and resilience throughout the season, which culminated in their well-deserved victory. The statement further commended the coaching staff, management, and the entire backroom team for their tireless efforts in ensuring the club’s success and the unwavering support of the fans, who relentlessly cheered the team on to victory.
A part of the statement reads “On behalf of the entire Ndigbo across the globe, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to your team, Rangers International Football Club of Enugu on winning the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, title”.

The Monarch further thanked the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Barr. Peter MBA for his facelift on the pitch and other sports infrastructure in the state and his plans of a complete turnaround of the sports industry in the state by building world-class facilities and upgrading existing ones to world-class.
