The 1999 CFRN (as amended) establishes the power, expectation & function of Local Government. The Constitution guarantees the existence of democratically elected Local government councils.

The Constitution also allow the creation of new Local Government areas through a referendum.

The system of Local government by democratically elected Local government councils is under this Constitution guaranteed; and accordingly, the government of every state shall subject to Section 8 of this Constitution ensure the existence under a Law which provides for the establishment, structure, finance & function of such councils.

The combine effect of these provisions listed above, granting reasonable justification for autonomy.

Any attempt to otherwise or strangulate the letter and spirit of this Constitution, including filing before court against independence of Local Government is satanic, wicked, and obviously attempting to steal and control approved allocation for Local Government.

Sadly, Ondo State Government is involved!, Faseesin Said
