Chief Ogundare lauded Mr. Olufowose’s dedication, hard work, resilience, and commitment to excellence, expressing confidence in his ability to excel in his new role and achieve even greater success.

Mr. Olufowose brings a wealth of experience to his new position at First Bank. Prior to this appointment, he held significant roles at prestigious institutions, including serving as an Executive Director at Access Bank Plc and Citibank Nigeria. In these roles, he led the origination, structuring, and execution of major corporate finance and investment banking transactions across Nigeria.

Mr. Olufowose, the Imoru-born technocrat began his banking career in 1985 at NAL Merchant Bank Plc, where he made substantial contributions to the Corporate Planning and Finance Departments. His impressive academic background includes a first-class honours degree in Economics from the University of Lagos and an MA in International Economics from the University of Sussex, England. Additionally, he has received extensive training from renowned institutions such as the Institute of Management Development in Switzerland, Harvard Business School in the USA, and INSEAD in Singapore.

An alumnus of both Harvard Business School and Lagos Business School, Mr. Olufowose is also a respected member of several professional organizations. He holds honorary senior membership of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and fellowships with the Institute of Credit Administration and the Association of Investment Advisers and Portfolio Managers.

Chief Ogundare’s congratulatory message highlights the significance of Mr. Olufowose’s appointment, marking it as a well-deserved accomplishment and a promising step for the future of First Bank of Nigeria Limited, and also a significant achievement for Ose local government area of Ondo state, especially Imoru town, where he hails from.
