The potentials of the annual Christmas celebration came into focus as the Governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodimma through the office of the Commissioner for Finance and Coordinating Economy , Dr Doris Uzoka- Anite, and Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Uche Ohia yesterday launched the first ever Owerri Christmas park in celebration of this year festival.
This epoch event which took place at the popular Ojukwu convention center opposite Heroes square witnessed top government functionaries , with their families in attendance.
Speaking during the Commissioning, the Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Coordinating Economy , Dr Doris Uzoka- Anite, said the park posses features like santa grotto , museum, children play ground, adult fun area, food and drinks, cava passage, iconic beautiful environment, fun train ride, spider, slide castle and every other things to help visitors have fun and relaxation.
She said the state, is blessed with more than scores of cuisines. At the same time, natural tourist sites
She further noted that, the place would be open for business from morning till night with a ticket fees of 500 hundred naria only for adult but free for kids.
All kinds of food and drinks will also be available , she said .
Also speaking,the Imo state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Uche Ohia expressed great excitement to be part of the opening ceremony of the first ever Owerri Christmas park aimed at boosting the hospitality and tourism sector in Imo state.
Ohia, said that, the government has done well to provide a beautiful and lovely place for families in Imo state to have fun and relax throughout this festival period.
He further disclosed that, the place is open for both Imo state people and others from other states to come and relax and have fun together with their children all through this Christmas celebration.
