It was a glamorous atmosphere at the event to welcome the Commissioner for Youth and Sports. The event commenced with prayers to usher in the newly appointed Commissioner Otunba Dele Ologun .

The Government House Chaplain- Ven. Kunle Babalola with his Assistant, Very Rev. E. Adelabu, came as earlier as 9:00 a.m to pray for a new beginning for the Commissioner and also prayed for Mr Governor for a successful tenure.

In his remark the Venerable stated he chose to visit the youth ministry first, because of the importance of Youth. Also the strategic place youths occupies in the development of the country, also the personality of the Commissioner appointed.

Various youths organizations were represented at the event; They includes: Mr Babalayo AKA Olutee the Former APC state Youth Leader, Hon Lawal Aketi Paff The Ag APC Southwest Youth Leaders, Former Special Assistant to Governor Akeredolu on Youth Prince Adepoju Dapo Sam (Bobofowoso) and Hon Adebiyi Mayowa Angelmayor AngelMayor, the Speaker of Ondo Youth Parliament Hon Smith Ikumapayi , the NYCN also sent their representatives. The APC Elected Youth leader also paid the Commissioner courtesy call. The elders from Akure North were Represented by Former Commissioner for State Universal Basic Education Board Chief Tayo Fayanju, Chief Dasu, Elder Steven Alo, Hon Simon Obe, while Mrs Tuki spoke for the women group, she appreciates the Governor for appointing a Nobel son of Akure North as a Commissioner. The woman leader promised total support of Akure North for Akeredolu’s administration.

The Commissioner also held meeting with administrative heads to receive various departmental briefing on the activities of the ministry. The Commissioner urge the Directors to ensure the success of the present Administration. He call for cooperation and unity of purpose to ensure youth and sports development in the state.
