Just In : APC Collapses structure into NNPP in Kano
On Saturday, thousand members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State switched allegiance to the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
The group of defectors from Shanono and Bagwai local government areas was officially welcomed by the Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, representing Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, at the Kano State Government House.
The Deputy Governor’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, issued a statement expressing Gwarzo’s enthusiasm in greeting the new NNPP members. Gwarzo stressed that the NNPP values unity and ensures fair treatment for all its members.
Shuaibu’s press release indicated that Gwarzo reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to implementing programs beneficial to all Kano State residents. He called for ongoing support from the community to foster the state’s development.
During the event, Alhaji Haruna Babangida Abbas (Kosashe), who led the group of defectors, explained that their decision to join the NNPP was influenced by Governor Abba’s leadership qualities and governance approach. He expressed regret over their prior allegiance to the APC and committed to supporting the NNPP for Kano’s improvement.
In response, Kano NNPP Chairman, Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa, welcomed the new members and assured them they would be fully involved in party activities. He invited others from various parties, including the APC, to consider joining the NNPP for the state’s progress. Advertisements Dungurawa also called for support of the government’s policies.
The gathering was attended by key officials, including the Kano State Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Alhaji Musa Suleiman Shanono, along with several other NNPP stakeholders, who celebrated the addition of the new members to the party.
