Food Security : Local Government Chairman Distributes fertilizers to Farmers ahead of Farming Season
In his avowed commitment to leave no stone unturned in terms of Agricultural facelift in the council, Hon. Chief Ajah Emmanuel Ogbonna (Confirm) has again met the heart of farmers by keeping touch with his promises through distributions of “All season fertilisers” with minimum percent of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and Potash (K) such that can accelerates roots formation and development and soften soil texture.
According to him, it is the wills of this administration to thrive in Agricultural practice as a symbol of agrarian State, specially in this economy doldrums only the availability of Foods can except Ivo People and such principles we must maintain to avoid been catch by the menace we are witnessing in the economy of the country.
The distribution formular was carried out across the 11wards of the council, Counsellors, Supervisors, adhoc staff’s, Stalkholders and general farmers.
Generally, the distribution of this fertilisers which was fairly shared on the 7th and 8th April after the commissioning of Her Excellency, Micro project ‘BERWO Clinic’ in the council was the 4th times the dedicated Council Chairman has officially shared fertilisers to the farmers across communities in Ivo LGA.
Recall the Council Chairman acquired Agricultural Training and graduated with a recognised Certification as an Agriculturist on 22nd September, 2022 at “CSS Intergrated Global Farms Limited, Gora in Nasarawa State” and has so far waxed his agricultural knowledge by changing the narratives through:
1.Distribution of over 1000 Cartons of Agricultural Spraying Machines.
2. Distributed over 3000 bags of various types of fertilisers (urea, diammonium phosphate and potassium chloride etc)
3. Distributed over 5000 Cartons of various Agricultural chemicals
4. Distributed rice seedlings of special species to subsistence farmers
5. Plantations of cereal crops (Rice) in about 3 acres of land.
6. Facilitates the processing of Agricultural Loan to farmers through EBSMEDA
7. Agricultural Financial empowerments and more
Sustainable Productivity in Agricultural course in the Council remains the core motivating factors of Ivo workaholic Council Chairman.
