Troops Of Joint Task Force Raided IPOB/ESN Camp In Ebonyi, K!lled One, Recovered Arms, Says Nigerian Army

The Nigerian Army says its troops of Sector 2 (Ebonyi) of the Joint Task Force South East Operation UDO KA in conjunction with personnel of Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence have killed one personnel of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
In a statement shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the military said the killing followed a successful raid on the camp of IPOB and their militant wing, ESN located at Mgbalukwu in Inyimagu, Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
According to the statement, the operation was conducted on Thursday, following a credible intelligence.
The statement is titled, “Troops Of Joint Task Force Operation Udo Ka Raids IPOB/ESN Camp In Ebonyi, recovers arms.”
The Army said during the operation, “troops came in contact with the terrorists which resulted in the neutralization of one IPOB member while others fled into the nearby forests”.
It noted that during the raid, the troops recovered “one x AK-47 rifle, 2 x AK-47 magazines, 54 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition and 3 x stolen Sienna buses”.
“The Force Commander Joint Task Force South Operation UDO KA, Major General HT Dada wishes to appreciate the synergy among the troops and other security agencies.
“All law-abiding citizens of South East Nigeria are all enjoined to continually provide timely, reliable and credible information through the Emergency Line 193 and then press Option 2 to speak to a call centre representative,” it added.
