Yesterday marked a significant milestone in the political landscape of Akoko South East Local Government as the State leadership of The Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organization Foot Soldiers (LACO-FS) oversaw the inauguration of its local government chapter. The event, held with grandeur at Isua, witnessed the esteemed presence of notable leaders from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the region.

Among the distinguished figures in attendance were retired Capt. Vincent Oyepata, a prominent member of the APC Akoko Elders Forum; Hon. Adaramola A. A. F., former ACN State Secretary; Chief (Mrs.) Obafemi Florence, former APC Local Government Women Leader; Hon. Shina Alaye, former APC State Secretary; Elder Adegbola Rufus, retired Director in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry; Hon. Aminu Vincent, former Ondo North Senatorial Youth Leader; and Hon. Rufus Ogedengbe, a former Member of the Ondo State House of Assembly. The event also welcomed other respected personalities including Hon. Ayimoro G. E., Baba Oloruntoba Johnson, Mrs. Awolowo Oluremi, Elder Olofin Ahmed, Hon. Balogun Gabriel, Mr. Atanda Adaramola, Hon. Kola Ajisafe, Mr. Bayode Osegbagi, and Hon. Ade Adeeko.

Leading the state leadership of LACO-FS were Hon. Oladipipo Okeyomi, the Convener, and Hon. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, the Director-General. The Convener, Hon. Okeyomi in his speech said LACO-FS is an Independent Campaign Organisation cutting across all the 18 local government areas of Ondo State with a vision to seize this moment that fate had thrust up a visionary, purposeful and responsible leader in the person of Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, to help him get the next mandate to work more for Ondo State.
The LACO-FS Director-General, Hon. Ogunleye, brimming with optimism and enthusiasm, addressed the massive gathering, assuring them of the commitment to good governance under the leadership of Governor Aiyedatiwa. He highlighted ongoing efforts to alleviate the economic challenges faced by the people through the implementation of palliative measures.

A notable leader of the party in the state who hails from the local government, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde (Amaechi) known for his deft political moves, while affirming his unwavering loyalty to the late Governor Akeredolu, unequivocally endorsed Governor Aiyedatiwa’s candidacy. Drawing from his experience as a Cabinet Member, Hon. Babatunde extolled the virtues and leadership qualities of Governor Aiyedatiwa, emphasizing his integrity and proven track record as Deputy Governor, Acting Governor, and now Governor.

Expressing gratitude for the dignitaries in attendance, Hon. Babatunde lauded their credibility, reliability, and principled stance, contrasting them with leaders lacking in these attributes. He underscored his support for Governor Aiyedatiwa’s continued tenure beyond 2025, citing assurances to complete ongoing projects initiated by the late Governor Akeredolu and strengthen party structures across the state.

The LACO-FS coordinator in Akoko South East, Hon. Adesina Adeola (Easy Way), echoed the sentiment of empowerment, declaring a new dawn for the youth in Ondo State under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration. He pledged to uphold the trust vested in him by the people, ensuring their voices are heard and needs addressed. Acknowledging the pivotal role played by Hon. Kolawole Babatunde in providing leadership and mobilizing support, Hon. Adeola expressed confidence in the success of the forthcoming governorship primary.

The inauguration of LACO-FS Akoko South East chapter stands as a testament to the unity, vision, and unwavering commitment to progress within the APC fold. As the journey towards the governorship primary unfolds, the resolve to champion good governance and empower the people remains steadfast.
