Ondo 2024 : Sheba Declares interest to contest in Governorship Election
In a significant development ahead of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary scheduled for April 25, Hon Abayomi Sheba has officially announced his intention to vie for the party’s ticket. Speaking at a meeting with PDP leadership in his Irele hometown, the headquarters of Irele local government area of Ondo State on Wednesday morning, Sheba expressed his eagerness to run and secure victory in the upcoming primary.
“I will be running because I am already committed to honoring the call from my people and serving them if given the opportunity,” affirmed Sheba during the meeting.
Acknowledging Sheba’s leadership qualities and philanthropic endeavors, the Local Government PDP chairman Chief Olagundoye Ajigbore praised the aspirant, saying, “We’re with you, and may God, in His infinite mercy, help you secure the party ticket. The testimony of your good works is evident everywhere.”
The gathering included prominent party leaders such as PDP South senatorial chairman Elder Amos Fadope, former PDP South senatorial chairman Evang. Sola Ogoade, and the assistant state treasurer of PDP in Ondo State Hon. Deolu Akinseye, among others.
Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support, Hon (Barr) Abayomi Sheba thanked the party leaders for their recognition and support. He also extended appreciation to all party members for their encouragement and pledged to continue serving with dedication.
As the political landscape in Ondo State unfolds, Sheba’s candidacy adds a new dimension to the upcoming PDP governorship primary, with supporters and party leaders anticipating a competitive race.
