Just In : Police Rescues Kidnapped monarch, Arrests Some Suspects
The gallant effort of the Imo Commissioner of Police Danjuma Aboki and his officers and men partnering other security agencies have paid off as they have successfully rescued the kidnapped former Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Samuel Ohiri.
The traditional ruler was adopted by gunmen in his palace about two weeks ago, as the State was basking on the euphoria of celebrating a crime-free Christmas and New Year festivities.
Information coming from the Police Public Relations Officer of the Imo State Police Command, SP Henry Okoye stated that the due to the hot chase by his men led the kidnappers to abandon the traditional ruler who was subsequently rescued unharmed in an undisclosed forest.
According to Okoye, “recall the Command has been working assiduously in synergy with other security agencies towards ensuring that Eze Ohiri is released and some arrest have been made.
“To the glory of God he has been released, after a hot chase on his kidnappers at the forest by operatives of the Command’s Anti kidnapping unit.
“The Command will continue to work towards stamping out all forms of violent crimes in the State. As CP Danjuma reaffirms the Command’s resolve to work harmoniously with the Military and other security agencies in stamping out violent crimes in the State.”
