Just In : Sultan Of Sokoto Issues Directive To Muslims For New Moon Observation In Rajab
The Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council Sokoto, Prof Sambo Janaidu, announced through a statement on Thursday that Friday, Jan. 12, equivalent to the 29th day of Jumada-Assani 1445 AH
Sultan of Sokoto
shall be the day to search for the new moon of Rajab 1445 AH. Muslims are requested to commence the search on Friday and report its sighting to the nearest District or Village Head for communication to the Sultan.
The Sultan extended his prayers, seeking Allah’s assistance for all Muslims in fulfilling their religious duties. Rajab, the seventh month in the Islamic calendar, is considered one of the four sacred months in Islam during which battles are prohibited.
