The Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) Imo State Chapter within the week inaugurated it new members who joined the association recently.
The inauguration which took place on the 4th August, 2021 at the association’s secretariat Imo State University Owerri, had in attendance scholars and professionals across the state and beyond.
At the meeting, the State chairman, Dr. Mrs Adeline Nkwam-Uwaoma, welcomed all registered members while urging them to maintain team spirit in order to develop themselves as well as contributing their quotas toward the growth of the association in the state.
Speaking further, the chairman highlighted the benefits of being a member of the association as well as outlining some of the programmes such as lecture series, conferences that will be coming up in Imo state soonest.
The State Chapter welfare officer, Mrs Felicia Ejiogu adding to the chairman’s comment pointed out that members who are already registered have started benefiting because their membership status are currently been used for their academic appraisal in their various institutions.
Adding her voice, the PRO/Treasurer Mrs Peggy Okodogbe informed members that on their own they should visit the association’s website to get themselves absreast with the happening and other related information for proper knowledge of the association.
Similarly, the Secretary of the association, Peter Dibia urged members to see the need to attend the national conference in Port Harcourt as way of familiarizing themselves with other states members and national executives.
One of the new registered members Hon. Megwa Godswill inquired about the minimum qualification to become a member of the association and who should be a member. appropriate response was given to that regard by the Chairman and the PRO.
The high point of the meeting was the presentation of certificates to registered members and plans for onward movement for the association national conference holding from 1st -2nd September, 2021 at Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
At the end of the meeting, a group photograph was taken for proper documentation.
