Emancipation : The Voice of Arakunrin From Above – Olasumbo Faseesin Esq
The voice craving from the wilderness. To clear the path and make way for the uninitiated, unlikely and obviously the least expected. To entrench the passage and words of the Bible, “not of him willing or, running but grace….”
Therefore, I call on the major beneficiaries of our struggle to have Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Aketi, SAN proceed on second term, not to dwarf the legacy but sustain through unification of ideas, and harmonizing various interests. The baton fell on Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa by virtue of natural circumstance, the implication of fate and fatalism and could mostly learn through the solemn conduct of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi in his expected but predictable comments. To live and die are permanent and permissible facts, inevitable realities that must occasion another phase and new philosophy. These philosophies are embodied in our memories and reflective of our characters, and personalities. Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Aketi,SAN has lived the most remarkable and significant lifestyle known to any reasonable mind.
Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu typifies the true Omoluabi in the famous words of Prof. Akin Oyebode where he examined the jurisprudence of Yoruba culture and the Law. In his several teaching on morality and Law, Prof has never left discerning mentees hollow or, empty in roaring the place humanity as ultimate assignment. That, a society becomes what we make of it in our objective criticism and sincere evaluation.
To this end, my words to Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa is anchored on the admonition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu where he suggested the need to unify Ondo state and various interests groups so leadership will not become rocket science. The way forward is to have people championing the phase and legacy of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Aketi,SAN in good virtues and good character. To avoid any act of witch hunt but focus on providing leadership. Our people deserve the best of governance, and nothing lacking in value to place Ondo on global records.
Consequently, we jointly have achieved this legacy through your practically demonstrating what Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Aketi , SAN stood for, and that even in death he remains our pathfinder. Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, I congratulate you as fate chosen to smile on your predictable choice before a conclusive exit of Arakunrin who’s now sitting back in rest to observe the unfolding of activities that could either sustain his legacies or, destroy them.
Going forward, I urge you to pride unity of purpose in all the major decisions arising from your leadership. Arakunrin in his days was obviously known to sustain the predecessors legacies including late Chief Adebayo Adefarati and most recent, Dr. Mimiko. Arakunrin did not only sustain their legacies but also ran an inclusive approach to governance devoid of bitterness. Universities across the state are good examples of enduring legacies for which Arakunrin resisted attempts to close down. They are those of his predecessors and he did well to sustain these varsities among other things he preserved.
Mr. Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in the immutable words of Pa Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, we must move on with legacy of our principal, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. That, in death, Arakunrin looks back, smiling in the manner we keep our peaceful coexistence and with less anxiety create an enviable atmosphere for economic independence and benefits for our people; provide jobs and encourage young minds toward self sustaining businesses and other necessary initiatives that keep the state intact. Please, i encourage you to embrace those who have chosen to move on with the mandate of continued administration through your official declaration as substantive Governor of Ondo state and jointly push the realization of Arakunrin’s ideals.
In doing so, our principal will look down from heaven and release blessings, guidance and more inspiration to inscribe like him remarkable deeds in hearts of the good people of Ondo state. Remember, however, that power is transient and God gives to whoever his wishes, time and season would not matter in his equation when he decides.
