….describes desperate moves of some actors as too early

As the race hots up preparatory to 2023 general election, politicians across the country as well as Ondo State have started making moves, consulting relevant party members and warming up for the exercise. While it is normal that some eligible incumbent would want to seek re-elections, it is equally proper that some other fresh hands would throw their hats into the ring. This is the beauty of the game.

However, a former party Chairman of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria and Coordinator of SIA Foundation, Prince Dayo Bello has reacted to the recent desperate moves of some politicians from the North Senatorial district; describing such as too early, immature and pedestrian.

In a statement made available to SIA media team, Bello who described himself as a veteran in politics pontificated that the dynamics of the coming election in the zone would be different from what it used to be in the past. “I have a long history of progressive politics and I have been involved at various levels.

My political perception and gut feeling tells me that the dynamics will be different in our zone in the coming election. I think our people are politically educated enough to decide for themselves. The awareness and the education are there. I see a great shaking coming to this zone”, Bello said.

Furthermore, he admonished politicians to shun politics of calumny and ‘PhD’ (Pull him Down) but rather to embrace issues and be service-driven. He urged desperate politicians to eschew violence as it would do no one any good, but rather to fight for the general welfare of the people they represent.
Signed; Prince Dayo Bello.
