Just In : Pure Water Delivery Driver Arrested, Arraigned After Using Company’s Money For Sports Betting
A pure water delivery truck driver has been arrested after he allegedly used his company’s sales money for gambling.
Samuel Meyiwa, 26, was put before the Yaba Magistrate’s Court in Lagos by his employer.
Meyiwa was employed early this year as a driver whose duty was to distribute sachet water.
Our heritage reporter News gathered that Meyiwa allegedly used portions of his daily sales income for sports betting without his employer’s knowledge.
It was revealed that Meyiwa sold sachet water worth N88,000 in October and failed to return the proceeds; when asked, he said costumers owed him.
According to our source, Pulse Nigeria, his deceptive practice became a recurring pattern, when in November, Meyiwa drove away with bags of sachet water worth N300,000.
He used the money to place bets, and when the bets were unsuccessful, Meyiwa disappeared.
Several efforts to locate him proved abortive, until he was seen working at another company weeks after.
Our heritage reporter ews also reliably gathered that Meyiwa committed the offences between March and November 2023 at Okusanya Street, off Adebayo Road, Bariga, Lagos.
He was apprehended by the police and arraigned before Magistrate A.O Salawu.
