Just In : APC Sacks All Rivers State Excos, Appoints Caretaker Committee Members
The caretaker committee will have Chief Tony Okocha as chairman and Eric Nwibani as Secretary
The executive of the Rivers State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress has been dissolved, according to the National Working Committee of the party.
The NWC, led by Abdullahi Ganduje, also revealed the establishment of a caretaker committee to supervise the conduct of a congress to choose new excos.
Two months prior, some party leaders loyal to former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi, led by state governorship candidate Tonye Cole, expressed regret that President Bola Tinubu had quietly sacrificed them for the benefit of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike and his supporters.
Addressing journalists at the party secretariat on Wednesday, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, said the inauguration of the committee members will take place at the party secretariat on Friday.
The drama however took a new twist when Morka, who was flanked by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Ladipo, reeled out the names of Wike’s loyalists as members of the seven-man caretaker committee.
