Impeachment Attempt: Tension as Governor Fubara Relocates House of Assembly to Government House
The Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has said that plenary sessions of the Rivers State House of Assembly will henceforth hold at the government house, pending a conclusion on the renovation of the Assembly premises. This was disclosed by Rivers State House of Assembly Member, Victor Jumbo, on AIT.

According to the Speaker, the assassination attempt on his life was his refusal to join the impeachment plot against Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Addressing a newsmen in Port Harcourt after his residence was attacked, Ehie said he is not afraid to die for doing what is right and is in the best interest of the state.
Rt Hon. Ehie accused some powerful individuals of being after him because he is standing with the governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and opposed the plot to impeach him.
The presence of the armed thugs and the shooting that followed put his entire household in great shock.

Rt Hon. who asserted that the invasion was connected to the ongoing political upheavals in the state, expressed shock that those after him were also trying to link him with the murder of the Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada, the late SP Bako Angbanshin.
