TEXT: Psalm 42:1-5 KJV
“As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God”.
[2] “My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?”
[3] “My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?”
[4] “When I remember these things , I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday”.
[5] “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance”.
☆☆☆ David was comparing the way his soul was thirsty after the Lord to the same way the hart panteth after the brooks.
☆☆☆ The hart is always in search of water to quench her thirst, so was the heart of David seeking after God.
☆☆☆ God is not man that can be deceived.
☆☆☆ David was sincere and God knew he was.
☆☆☆ You can deceive me to make me believe you like me but not so with God.
☆☆☆ Before you decide a thing, God sees and knows it all.
☆☆☆ There is a story in 2 Kings 6:11-12, God was revealing to Elisha what the king of Syria was discussing in his bedchamber.
“Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel?”
[12] “And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber” – 2 Kings 6:11-12.
☆☆☆ This is where man is missing it.
☆☆☆ God knows when you step out of faith to seek help where none is existing.
☆☆☆ That is why some people think God doesn’t answer prayers anymore.
☆☆☆ God does answer prayers beloved, but remember that he’s a jealous God.
“For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God” – Exodus 34:14.
☆☆☆ So when you go in search of help from other gods, God sees and knows.
☆☆☆ God even wondered if man still remembers that he, God, knows the function of the eyes and the ears.
☆☆☆ For the bible says:
“Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it”.
[8] “Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?”
[9] “He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?”
[10] “He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?”
[11] “The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity” – Psalm 94:7-11.
☆☆☆ When you go visiting those white garment herbalists, God sees and knows.
☆☆☆ God knows how to ridicule those who claim to be children of God in the open but go in search of other gods in the dark.
☆☆☆ Hear this:
☆☆☆ A man who claimed to be a pastor, had some challenges and a friend took him to one “baba” somewhere.
☆☆☆ The “baba” gave him a charm rapped with red, white and black tread.
☆☆☆ He was asked to always put it in his pocket anywhere he went.
☆☆☆ He did this religiously and went back to the “baba” after a month to share his testimonies.
☆☆☆ The “baba” now collected the charm from him and opened it.
☆☆☆ Inside it was a white paper, on the paper was written Psalm 23.
☆☆☆ So God used the “baba” to preach to the ‘pastor’ that God answers prayers.
☆☆☆ If only you can pray, God still answers prayers.
☆☆☆ If only you can return to God, confess and forsake your sins, he will surely forgive.
■■■ Shall we pray.
*PRAYERS:*
☆☆☆ Remenber that God sees and knows, so tell him exactly those areas where you need his forgiveness.
1. Oh God my father, please forgive me all my trespasses in Jesus name (mention those sins).
2. Father, rescue me from the bondage of sin in Jesus name.
3. Oh God my father, strengthen me and increase my faith in you oh God.
“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not” – Jeremiah 33:3.
■■■ Now cry unto God:
4. Oh God my father, remember me oh Lord and change my story for good.
■■■ Hear this:
☆☆☆ A man who was looking for a job, would always leave home early every morning.
☆☆☆ One day as he stepped out, the rain started and he rushed under a shed where he saw others taking cover.
☆☆☆ Suddenly somebody tapped his shoulder from behind. It was his old time friend from their secondary school days.
☆☆☆ They exchanged greetings and the friend told him he came around to drop his car for repairs and gave this brother his card.
☆☆☆ This was how the rain pushed this same brother who had no job, to meet his helper who got him a job.
5. My father, my father, let the rain, the sun and the moon begin to work in my favour.
6. Oh God, the creator of the universe, let everything you have created work in my favour in Jesus name.
7. Father, connect me with my destiny helpers this season in Jesus name.
8. Oh God my father, as the rain worked in favour of that brother, let every seemingly challenge in my life begin to work in my favour in Jesus name.
“And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the Lord looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians”,
[25] “And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the Lord fighteth for them against the Egyptians” – Exodus 14:24-25.
■■■ God crippled the chariots of the Egyptians so they would not catch up with the Israelites.
■■■ Please pray like this:
9. Father, cripple the legs of my evil pursuers so that they will not catch up with me as I journey through life in Jesus name.
10. I grab the sword of God and puncture the tyres of the vehicle of every evil pursuer of my life in Jesus mighty name.
“And he said, O Lord God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham” – Genesis 24:12.
11. Father, grant me accelerated speed to finish well and finish strong in Jesus name.
“And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel” – 1 Kings 18 : 46.
☆☆☆ Elijah, walking on his feet, out ran Ahab who was ridding on the horse.
☆☆☆ When God is involved in the race of a man, that race turns to Grace.
■■■ Pray like this:
12. Father, empower me oh God with your grace to make positive impacts where I have been written off by men.
13. Oh God my father, show me your kindness and your favour in Jesus name.
14. Father, as I begin to seek you afresh in truth and in faith, load my life with “talking” miracles and testimonies in Jesus name.
15. Father, let me become a wonder and an amazement to my mockers in Jesus name.
*PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:*
Oh God, please let your mercy flow as we all turn to you in full repentance in Jesus name.
I pray for somebody today and I decree, may you not seek help where none exists in Jesus name.
To another individual, I decree, may you not forsake God, who is the Fountain of Life, to seek after other gods in Jesus name.
■■■ God is sending me to someone out there, God says, you should wait on him that he will help you and settle your case.
What a merciful and a faithful God you are Lord !!!
I pray for somebody today and I prophesy, that wind blowing in your life shall push you to your breakthrough in Jesus name.
That storm will not drown you but God will be glorified soon in your life in Jesus name.
I paralyse every evil pursuer of your life in Jesus name.
Those monitoring the progress of your life for evil shall go blind in Jesus name
You are coming out of that storm stronger and better in Jesus name.
I decree, declare and prophesy, your challenges shall become your instruments of praises in Jesus name.
