DON’T GIVE UP – Pastor Isaac Olutimehin
TEXT:
John 5:7 KJV.
“The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me”.
MESSAGE
☆☆☆ This man had been sitting by the pool, waiting for his healing, for 38 years.
☆☆☆ Note that there were others waiting too for the same purpose.
☆☆☆ The man needed somebody to put him into the pool so he could receive his healing but he found no man.
☆☆☆ Beloved, there are lots of lessons to be learnt from the story of this impotent man.
1. There is an appointed time.
☆☆☆ Beloved, you may be at the right place, even at the right time; doing what God has destined you to do and you may not be fulfilled yet.
☆☆☆ This is because there is an appointed time for every man on the timetable of the Almighty. It is called the time of life. Read Genesis 18:10&14; Exodus 9:5; 2 Kings 4:16&17.
☆☆☆ Once it’s your time, no power can hinder you anymore.
2. You can’t achieve anything without God
☆☆☆ Many people today rely so much on their ability and knowledge. A lot of them ascribe their attainment in life to self.
☆☆☆ Education is good and very important but education without the help of God shall amount to nothing.
☆☆☆ There are so many people, out there, who are well educated but no jobs, yet school drop outs are employers.
☆☆☆ No wonder the bible says ????
“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts” – Zechariah 4:6.
3. God may need to work on you first.
☆☆☆ There may be certain things that must happen in your life before God will answer your prayers.
☆☆☆ If Joseph didn’t go to prison, he wouldn’t have fulfilled his dreams.
☆☆☆ God may also look at you that you aren’t mature enough yet to receive what you are asking for.
☆☆☆ When you look at the early life of Joseph, he centered on himself. Hear him ????
“And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed – Genesis 37:6.
☆☆☆ Read the entire chapter of Genesis 37 and you will see “I” being repeated again and again.
☆☆☆ When you now get to Genesis 41, when the same Joseph stood before Pharaoh, Pharaoh wanted him to interprete his dreams. Now listen to how Joseph responded ????
“And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace” – Genesis 41:16.
☆☆☆ No longer “I” but Joseph now recognized the input of God.
☆☆☆ King Nebuchadnezzar had the same experience with God. When he thought that all he had was by his power, he was dethroned until he knew that he wasn’t anything without God. Read Daniel 4:30-34.
☆☆☆ You must stop focusing on self and let God take all the glory.
4. Man will fail you.
☆☆☆ The impotent man waited on man for 38 years to help him.
☆☆☆ That’s the problem many people are facing with God today.
☆☆☆ Many people believe that God won’t come down from heaven to help them. They believe God will surely send a man. They are now busy looking for that man.
☆☆☆ Remember, God said ????
“Thus saith the Lord ; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord” – Jeremiah 17:5.
5. Don’t give up.
☆☆☆ This is where many people miss their miracles in life.
☆☆☆ Many people give up at the point of breakthrough. If a man knows how close he is to his miracle, he will never give up.
☆☆☆ The woman of Zarephath almost gave up but thank God she didn’t and she got her miracle. Read 1 Kings 17:8-16.
☆☆☆ Naaman was standing by his miracle and he almost lost it but thank God he obeyed simple instruction and he got his healing. Read 2 Kings 5:10-14.
☆☆☆ It doesn’t matter how long you have been waiting, God can never be late.
☆☆☆ The impotent man waited for 38 years and he still got his miracle.
6. God knows your challenges.
☆☆☆ A lot of people today think that God doesn’t know what they are passing through.
☆☆☆ Beloved, he knows. The most interesting thing about God is that, he already had the solution to your problem before you had that problem.
☆☆☆ For example, God was aware of the challenges that the people of Jericho were experiencing and he already made the solution ready and available. Read 2 Kings 2:19:22.
7. God knows your address.
☆☆☆ This is quite interesting. God knows your location. He even knows if you are the house owner (landlord) or a tenant.
☆☆☆ In case you are in doubt, read the story of Saul who became apostle Paul.
☆☆☆ When God was sending Ananias to attend to the challenges of Saul. God gave a perfect house address of Saul and the name of his landlord ????
“And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus : for, behold, he prayeth ” – Acts 9:11.
☆☆☆ The name of the street where Saul could be found was mentioned: Straight.
☆☆☆ The name of his house owner (landlord) was mentioned: Judas
☆☆☆ God didn’t forget the name of the one expecting a miracle, Saul. So God knows your name.
☆☆☆ Finally, God even told Ananias what Saul was doing at the moment: praying.
8. God hasn’t forgotten you.
☆☆☆ The impotent man saw many people receiving their miracles but he never allowed that to discourage him.
☆☆☆ Your colleagues that you graduated with, may get employed ahead of you, relax for your own time will surely come.
☆☆☆ Others may be giving birth to children, don’t think God has forgotten you, he will remember you soon.
☆☆☆ God remembered Sarah and Hannah, that is your assurance that he will surely remember you.
☆☆☆ That location where Peter was, frustrated and discouraged, was the same place his miracle met him. Read Luke 5:1-7.
☆☆☆ The impotent man didn’t know that Jesus was coming the day his miracle located him.
☆☆☆ Our God is a God of sudden and he will surely visit you this season.
PRAYERS
1. Father Please, open my book of remembrance today and change my story for good.
2. Oh God my father, that solution you have prepared ahead of my challenges, let it manifest in my life now.
3. Am waiting on you oh God, let my set time come now in Jesus name.
4. Father, don’t allow me to die before the day of my glory.
5. Oh God my creator, wherever my destiny helpers are, let them search me out in Jesus name.
6. My father, my father, let my testimonies become the prayer points of others in Jesus name.
7. Oh God, don’t allow my waiting on you to be in vain, please remember me today.
8. I refuse to depart this world unfulfilled in Jesus name.
9. Father, don’t allow me to die with my gifts and potentials.
10. My father and my God, let me impart my generation positively before I depart this world.
PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS.
✓✓ On the day of your divine intervention, I decree, the devil will not push you out of where God has positioned you for your breakthrough in Jesus name.
✓✓ Where men have failed you, I decree, God will appear on your behalf to settle your case.
✓✓ May you and your destiny helpers not work in opposite directions in Jesus name.
✓✓ I pray for somebody today and I decree, a miracle that will lift up your faith, shall locate you this season in Jesus name.
✓✓ Tireless, committed and faithful helpers, shall the God of heaven raise for your assistance in Jesus name.
✓✓ May you not give up at the point of your breakthrough in Jesus name.
✓✓ I curse the spirit of failure, at the peak of success, out of your life in Jesus.
✓✓ You that spirit of discouragement and procrastination, programed into the life of somebody reading this prayer message, I decree, bow now in Jesus name.
✓✓ You will impact your generation and fulfill the purpose of God for your creation, before you depart this world in Jesus name.
✓✓ May you not become a waste to your family and your generation in Jesus name.
