REVEALED – How OAU Lecturer Slumped, Died In Office
A tragic incident occurred at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, last Tuesday, as Dr. Ayo Ojediran, a senior lecturer in the Department of Science and Technology Education within the Faculty of Education, reportedly collapsed and passed away in his office.
The entire faculty is currently engulfed in mourning, with many lecturers and students visibly overwhelmed with grief, shedding tears as emotions run high.
As of the time of this report, the incident continues to be a topic of discussion, prompting reflections on the sudden loss.
Upon investigation on Wednesday, it was revealed that when Dr. Ojediran collapsed, those nearby made concerted efforts to assist him. Unfortunately, despite their efforts and while being rushed to the university health center, he had already succumbed before reaching the facility. The health center recorded the case as “Brought in Dead” for the departed soul.
Within the faculty, both lecturers and students fondly remembered the deceased as a compassionate individual who devoted his life to serving humanity and imparting value to the younger generation.
However, in a post on his verified Facebook page, Ayodeji Obisesan wrote: “Dr Ayo Ojediran, a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Education at OAU, slumped and died in his office today.
Such a nice and humble man to the core. Always willing to help. My namesake, for sure.”
“May God grant us, your students, friends, colleagues, associates, and family members, the fortitude to bear this great loss. May your soul rest in perfect peace, Dr. Ojediran Isaac Ayodele.”
When approached for a statement, the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olarewaju, expressed regret over the incident. However, he indicated that the institution is currently not in a position to release any official statement, emphasizing the sensitivity of the matter at hand.
