Just In : OSUN Governor sack scores of newly recruited Health Workers in UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital
THE newly recruited Health Workers for the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital got the rude shock of their lives when they were asked to go home few days after they were recruited with their Letters of Appointments.
The order for the Terminations of their appointment allegedly came from the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
The initial recruitment exercise had been carried out with much anticipation, as it was seen as a ray of hope for many job seekers in the state.
A document obtained by the online news duly signed by the Director of Administration, Dr. Owolade O. A. of the Teaching Hospital notified the newly recruited staffs that their employment has been nullified by the state government.
The message read:
“NOTIFICATION: SUSPENSION OF STAFF RECRUITMENT.
“This is to inform the newly recruited staff to the outreach centers that the recruitment exercise earlier conducted had been nullified in accordance with the Osun State Government directives. This notification supersedes the earlier memorandum released.
Thank you.”
The reasons behind this sudden turnaround by the Governor remain subject of speculations, leaving many to wonder about the fate of these newly appointed employees and the future of healthcare services at the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital’s outreach centers.
But one of the appointees told newsmen in confidence that they were asked to go home on October 19, 2023 with the excuse that the appointment exceeded the number of employees required.
Accordingly, workers recruited are over 100 spread across all the Primary Health Centres in the State.
We are unable to confirm if the mass sack affected newly recruited workers at all the Primary Health Centres in the State.
“We resumed early October 2023 but before we received our salary for the month, we are asked to go home on October 19, 2023. We are still hoping they would call us back. The information we heard was that they recruited more than they needed.”
