Kogi Guber Elections: Fulani community endorses Gubernatorial candidate
The Fulani community in Kogi State have endorsed the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC in the state, Ahmed Ododo ahead of next Saturday’s election.
The spokesperson of the Fulani community, Professor Mohammed Abdullahi who spoke on behalf of the community, said Ododo was chosen because he has the quality and most qualified candidate among those contesting.
He added that their decision was informed by the tremendous success recorded by the administration of the present Governor, Yahaya Bello, especially in the area of infrastructural development.
He said, “We know Ododo is the most qualified candidate among all the candidates contesting for the governorship seat.
“We have interacted with the other candidates and we found him (Ahmed Ododo) to be the most qualified among them.
“Secondly, all the projects embarked upon by Yahaya Bello must not stop. We want Ododo to continue with Gov. Bello’s mission to rebuild Kogi State.
“Gov Bello’s administration has been generous to us. His government is a government that accommodates all, irrespective of your tribe or religious affiliation and we see Ododo following his footsteps.”
Meanwhile, Ododo, in his response, urged the people to vote for him adding that his “intentions for the state are pure and good. If elected, I will ensure that you are free to continue to transact your business and your children will continue to go to school without intimidation.
“I also assure you that if I am elected as the governor of the state, I will also appoint Fulani indigene into my cabinet,” he said.
Similarly, the Governorship candidate had earlier held a town hall meeting with major stakeholders in Lokoja community where he said he had mapped out a strategic plan to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Lokoja local area if voted on Saturday.
Ododo said having undertaken extensive research, he found out that the entire Lokoja stakeholders irrespective of tribe, religious and political affiliations are united.
He noted that a vote for APC come November 11, is a vote for consolidation of the laudable achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello, especially the infrastructural development in Lokoja.
He appealed to parents not to allow their children to be used by politicians as thugs.
“I want to appeal to you our elders, to help us to actualise the mandate. I also want to assure you that I will not disappoint you, we are coming to serve with the fear of God, as power belongs to God” he said.
Earlier, the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Aliyu Umar reiterated Lokoja local government’s determination to deliver Ododo next Saturday.
The lawmaker further stated that Ododo would consolidate on the laudable achievements recorded by Governor Bello.
