Community Conflict : Local Government Chairman takes strong measures, emphasize on importance of peaceful coexistence
The peace loving chairman of Ivo local government council, Hon. Chief Ajah Emmanuel Ogbonna (Confirm) whose quest since emergence is crusading for Peaceful Environment, Unification and Development across the communities and virtually has guard successful results both in implementing policies to instill peace, championing crime free society and manning infrastructural development among others, would not hesitate to arrest in drastic measures raising conflict in the community and forestall immediate solutions to suit all and sundry in spite of who is involved.
Haven put under control through quick intervention by the Security agencies the broke out conflict between the two side of our brothers, Mr. Olu Earnest (Ya’radua) and Mr. Augustine Ekeh, that led to unrest early hours of Saturday 4th November, 2023 in “Ano Community” as a result of “ANO STONE DEALERS ASSOCIATION ELECTION” slated to hold same day. The council chairman in relative agreement with the Hon. Commissioner for Border Peace and conflict Resolution, Hon. Commissioner for Internal Security ably represented, Ebonyi State, President General, Ishiagu Community Development Union federated ICDU, Department of State Service DSS, Division Police Force, Immigration Service and other security agencies, that since ivo LGA is pedestal of Peace, maintaining law and order propagation of Ebonyi State government, and haven on several occasions sensitize equally the leader of both side from stirring tension that will cause crisis in the community despite unanimous agreement on “Ano leadership” after large input, shall incur the losses of all damaged properties.
Hence the both leaders are tasked to replace and repair all damaged properties including burnt motorcycles, lynched vehicles and others items, and the bills of all circumstance victims hospitalised resulting from severe injuries should be taken care of.
The Council chairman afterwards tasked Ano stone dealers Association which has her new leaders to thrive on business promotion, sustainance and accommodation of all and sundry in the community to earn their livelihood in the company and enact policies that suit the programme of the government.
