Just In : Atiku Suffers Huge Blow As Key PDP National Officer Resigns, Dumps Party (DETAILS)
Honourable Magaji Alhassan, a national member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) representing Kaduna State, has tendered his resignation from both his position and the party.
In a letter dated October 5th, 2023, addressed to the acting National Chairman of the PDP, Umar Damagum, Alhassan officially announced his resignation.
Additionally, on October 7th, 2023, he communicated his withdrawal from the PDP through a letter addressed to the party’s acting chairman of Kwabai B ward in the Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
While Alhassan did not specify the reason behind his departure from the PDP, he returned his membership card, which was attached to the letter handed over to the ward chairman.
This move follows a trend of members shifting allegiance from the opposition party to the ruling APC in the north-western state. On October 10, 19 councillors and their supporters from the 23 LGAs in Kaduna switched their affiliation to the APC. They attributed their decision to the purposeful leadership provided by Governor Senator Uba Sani since he assumed office, urging PDP’s governorship candidate, Isah Ashiru, to withdraw his suit challenging Governor Sani’s election at the appeal court and collaborate with the governor to advance the progress of Kaduna State.
