Popular House of Reps member Buried In Home Town
The remains of the member representing Sabon Birni/Isa Federal Constituency, Abdulkadir Jelani Danbuga in Sokoto State has been laid to rest at his home town of Unguwar lalle in Sabon Birni Local Government Area.
The member died in the early hours of Wednesday in an Abuja hospital following a brief illness.
Danbuga, aged 63, is survived by two wives, 15 children and many grandchildren.
He was a two-term chairman of Sabon Birni local government as well as state commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning during the first tenure of Aliyu Wamakko administration.
He won the House of Representatives seat for Sabon Birni/isa federal constituency during the 2023 General elections.
Speaking while condoling the family, the state Deputy Governor, Idris Gobir described the death of the lawmaker as a great loss to the family and the entire state.
He described the deceased as known for his humbleness, kindness, generosity and a true son of Gobir.
Other dignitaries that witnessed the burial include Speaker of the state House of Assembly AlhajiTukur Bala Bodinga, his Deputy Kabir Ibrahim Kware and some members of the National and state Assemblies, Commissioners, Special Advisers, Traditional rulers among other top politicians in the state.
