Just In : Monarch Advises LP Gubernatorial Aspirant On Respecting Traditional Rulers
The Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, has advised Labour Party governorship aspirant Kenneth Imansuagbon not to disrespect traditional rulers, urging respect for traditional institutions for blessings and protection
During Imansuagbon’s visit to seek royal blessings for his gubernatorial aspiration, the monarch stressed the importance of maintaining respect for traditional institutions in politics.
Additionally, Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki emphasized the need for fairness, equity, and inclusivity in the process of selecting his successor for the 2024 gubernatorial election.
Obaseki noted that his administration’s goal is to keep Edo united, and the selection process should reflect these principles. He also clarified that he has no personal issues with Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu.
